About Percussion
Hand percussion instruments are drums and other percussion you play by striking, shaking or clicking them together. The Ökecajon percussion range includes many shakers, among them chip, cube, mini and keychain models, along with the conga, wood blocks, sizzle, side kick and O-Tick. A shaker is a rhythm instrument you play by shaking the grains inside it. All our cajon models are in the cajon category.
Frequently asked questions
What are hand percussion instruments?
Hand percussion instruments are drums and other percussion you play with your hands or a light stick, by striking them, shaking them or clicking them together. Idiophones sound through their own body (cajon, shaker, wood block); membranophones through a stretched membrane (bongos, congas, darbuka). For most beginners, the shaker or the cajon is the easiest place to start.
How much do your shakers and percussion instruments cost?
Our percussion instruments currently on sale range from ₺675 to ₺9,450. Each model's current price and stock are shown on this page and on its product page.
What is in this range?
Many shakers, including chip, cube, mini and keychain models; the conga, wood blocks, sizzle, side kick and O-Tick. All our cajon models are in the cajon category.
What is a shaker and how do you play it?
A shaker is a rhythm instrument you play by shaking it: the grains inside hit each other and the inner walls to make the sound. In pop and rock it often carries the steady pattern a drummer would play on the ride cymbal, and you can add accents by striking it as well as shaking it. There are many types, from plastic egg shakers to wooden tube and box shakers.
